Olivia and Chris’s Beautiful Wedding at Elsick House

It was wonderful to return to Elsick House for my second wedding at this beautiful Aberdeenshire venue, this time to photograph Olivia and Chris as they became Mr and Mrs Stoddart.

Despite the Scottish weather bringing plenty of rain, the day was filled with warmth, laughter and so many lovely moments. Elsick House provided a stunning backdrop for the celebrations, from its elegant interiors to the surrounding grounds, giving us plenty of opportunities to create beautiful wedding photographs throughout the day.

A Beautiful Elsick House Wedding

Olivia looked absolutely beautiful, and the excitement was clear from the moment the morning preparations began. The atmosphere was relaxed and emotional as everyone prepared for the ceremony and the celebrations ahead.

Chris and the guests were welcomed by the unmistakable sound of the pipes, creating a wonderfully Scottish beginning to the day. The ceremony itself was personal, heartfelt and full of happiness as Olivia and Chris exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest family and friends.

After the ceremony, we made the most of every break in the weather. Rain on a wedding day certainly does not mean you cannot have beautiful photographs. Elsick House has lovely indoor spaces and sheltered areas, allowing us to continue capturing natural portraits, family photographs and candid moments without losing the atmosphere of the day.

Natural and Relaxed Wedding Photography

My approach to wedding photography is focused on documenting the real moments as they happen. Alongside the important family groups and couple portraits, I love capturing the smaller interactions that tell the full story of the day, the laughter, the emotional glances, the children playing and guests enjoying themselves.

Olivia and Chris’s wedding was full of these moments. Their photographs reflect not only how beautiful everything looked, but how the day genuinely felt.

The celebrations continued with wonderful food from Hudson and an evening filled with music and dancing from DJ Harry Butler. The dance floor was soon busy, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding day.

Returning to Elsick House

Having now photographed two weddings at Elsick House, it was lovely to return with a greater knowledge of the venue and its different photography locations.

Every wedding is completely unique, and Olivia and Chris made Elsick House their own. From the thoughtful details to the relaxed celebration with their family and friends, the entire day felt personal to them.
