A beautiful winter wedding, festive colours, Scottish traditions and a rather lovely Highland cow!

Some weddings stay with you, and this beautiful Christmas-inspired celebration at Logie House was certainly one of them.

This was my very first time photographing a wedding at Logie, and what a wonderful introduction to the venue!

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, with its impressive architecture and gorgeous grounds, Logie provided a fantastic setting for a winter wedding.

A Little Christmas Magic

There is something particularly lovely about winter weddings. The rich colours, seasonal atmosphere and opportunity to embrace something a little different make them incredibly special to photograph.

For this wedding, the couple chose a beautiful combination of deep forest greens, traditional Scottish tartan and delicate floral details.

The bride's dress was particularly memorable, featuring beautiful floral embroidery that added a wonderful splash of colour. Paired with the bridesmaids' deep green dresses and the groom's traditional kilt, everything worked together beautifully.

And, of course, we had a rather magnificent Highland cow making an appearance in some of the photographs!

Not something you get at every wedding!

Photographing at Logie House for the First Time

As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love exploring new venues.

Every location offers something different, and part of the enjoyment is discovering its little corners, beautiful backdrops and opportunities to create photographs that feel natural to the couple.

Logie certainly didn't disappoint.

From the beautiful exterior of the house to the pathways and stonework surrounding it, there were so many opportunities for photographs.

I particularly loved how the deep greens of the wedding party's outfits complemented the winter surroundings.

And while I always make time for those more traditional photographs, it's the natural interactions and little moments between people that really bring a wedding gallery together.

A Wedding That Caught Everyone's Attention

I recently displayed photographs from this wedding at the Aberdeen Wedding Exhibition, and they proved particularly popular with visitors.

It was lovely seeing people stop to admire the photographs, especially the beautiful colours and the rather photogenic Highland cow!

One of the things I really enjoy about wedding exhibitions is having the opportunity to share complete wedding stories rather than just individual photographs.

Every couple brings their own personality to their celebrations, and this wedding was a wonderful example of that.

Planning Your Own Wedding at Logie House?

Having now photographed at Logie several times, I would absolutely love to return.

Whether you're planning a festive winter celebration, a colourful summer wedding or something entirely your own, it's a beautiful venue with so much photographic potential.

My approach to wedding photography combines natural, documentary-style storytelling with relaxed portraits and those all-important family photographs.

I want your photographs to reflect how your wedding actually felt, capturing the laughter, the atmosphere, the beautiful details and everything in between.

If you're planning your wedding at Logie House, or anywhere across Aberdeenshire and the North East of Scotland, I'd love to hear about your plans.
