This Logie Country House wedding had such a beautiful festive feel to it. Set against the character and charm of the house, the whole day felt rich, romantic and full of personality. It was a Christmas wedding, but not in an overly traditional way. Instead, it felt elegant, stylish and deeply personal, with bold seasonal colour, lovely winter atmosphere and the kind of details that made the whole gallery feel distinctive.
One of the things that makes Logie Country House such a strong wedding venue is the amount of variety it offers in one place. The venue is an exclusive use country house estate near Inverurie, with 17 bedrooms sleeping up to 50 guests, a ballroom for larger celebrations, and a mix of interiors, courtyards and grounds that give couples so many options for the flow of the day.

For a winter wedding, that flexibility matters so much. Logie has the kind of interiors that feel warm and atmospheric when the season turns colder, but it also has beautiful outdoor spaces that still work brilliantly for portraits when the weather behaves. The venue’s grounds include south facing lawns running down towards the River Urie, a private island reached by footbridge, and ancient woodland around the estate, so there is no shortage of picturesque places to photograph a couple.
What I loved most about this wedding was how the styling worked so naturally with the venue. The bride’s dress was full of embroidered floral detail, with soft greens and reds that felt perfect for a Christmas wedding without being heavy or predictable. Alongside the groom’s green jacket and red tartan, it gave the whole day such a rich seasonal palette. It felt festive, but also artistic and fashion led, which suited Logie beautifully.
Logie Country House has so much character in the house itself too. The venue highlights antiques, open fires and cosy interiors as part of its appeal, and that all adds to the atmosphere on a winter wedding day. It is the kind of place that already feels full of texture and warmth, so when you add in festive styling it comes together really naturally.
From a photography point of view, it is a venue that gives you a lot to work with. The courtyard offers a sheltered outdoor option, while the house and estate provide a good balance of grand features and quieter corners. For larger celebrations, Logie’s soundproofed and air conditioned ballroom can host up to 180 guests in the evening, which makes it ideal for weddings that move from romantic daytime moments into a proper party later on.
This wedding felt especially lovely because it leaned into the season while still feeling completely personal. The colours, the textures and the atmosphere all worked together so well. There was a sense of winter romance to the day, but also a freshness to it. It did not feel dark or overly formal. It felt joyful, stylish and full of warmth.
That is one of the reasons Logie works so well for weddings across the year. It can feel relaxed and open in summer, but in winter it takes on a completely different kind of beauty. With exclusive use of the house and estate, couples get that real sense of privacy and can make the venue feel like their own for the celebration. Logie offers two and three day weddings, which also helps create that more immersive, house party feel that so many couples love.
This Christmas wedding was such a gorgeous example of how to do seasonal styling in a way that feels elegant and original. Full of colour, character and romance, it suited Logie Country House perfectly.
If you are planning a winter wedding at Logie Country House and want photography that captures both the atmosphere and the personality of the day, I would love to hear from you.
