Capturing Love Across Scotland: My Journey as a Wedding Photographer

Hello there, lovely people! I'm thrilled to have you here on my little corner of the internet. My name is Annie, and I'm a wedding photographer based in the charming town of Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. I've had the absolute pleasure of capturing beautiful moments across the entire nation—from the historic streets of Edinburgh to the vibrant energy of Glasgow—and I'm always ready to pack my bags and travel throughout the UK to be a part of your special day. Just a heads up, if you're outside a three-hour drive, travel expenses would be appreciated, but trust me, I'm so worth it!

My journey into photography began back in Lancashire, where I grew up before heading off to Coventry University at the age of 19. It was there that I met my now-husband and fell in love with the art of photography while studying media marketing. The university became my playground and canvas, as I took on the role of media marketing coordinator, capturing moments that defined the student experience. After the birth of our first child and expecting our second, my husband and I decided to embark on a new adventure, relocating to a smallholding in Turriff, Aberdeenshire. Surrounded by sheep, horses, chickens, and ducks, we cherished the peaceful rural life, though we never quite got around to pigs! It was during this time that I attended Gray's School of Art, where I pursued a master’s degree in fine arts photography. This educational journey allowed me to refine my photography style, blending formal poses with candid captures. Today, as a lifestyle photographer, I thrive on capturing the authentic emotions and spontaneous moments that make weddings so magical. As our children grew, we moved to Huntly to provide them with better access to educational opportunities.

Standing at 5ft 11, I have the perfect vantage point for those high-up photos and a bubbly, chatty nature that helps me connect with families and coax smiles from even the shyest of children. Speaking of kids, I have three of my own, plus a delightful dachshund named Amber. She was a gift for my husband, but between you and me, I think she's become more of my little sidekick—just don't tell him!

My work as a wedding photographer isn't just about snapping pictures; it's about creating a connection. Being a natural empath and an introvert at heart, I understand the importance of tuning into the energy of the bride and her party. Whether I'm quoting old movies or engaging in a bit of Gen Z banter, I bring my quirky, fun-loving spirit to every wedding I attend.

Over the past two decades, my journey has taken me from university campuses to wedding catwalks, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experiences I've had. For the past six years, I've specialized in weddings, capturing love stories with a blend of artistry and authenticity. So, if you're looking for a photographer who will not only document your special day but also become a part of it, I'm here to make your dreams come true.

Thank you for joining me on this delightful journey as a wedding photographer in Scotland. I can't wait to meet you and be a part of your love story!
